Strawnana

4.8 (247 reviews)

Strawnana, also known as Strawberry Banana, was bred by DNA Genetics in collaboration with Serious Seeds and Reserva Privada. It’s a cross of Crockett’s Banana Kush with the strawberry phenotype of Bubble Gum. Banana Kush brings the tropical, banana-forward character and a track record for consistency, while the strawberry Bubble Gum parent contributes the strain’s signature berry sweetness.

About Strawnana Strain

Here’s a quick snapshot of the Strawnana strain:

  • Type: Hybrid (Roughly 70% indica, 30% sativa)

  • THC Range: 21%–26%

  • Dominant Terpenes: Myrcene, Caryophyllene, and Limonene

  • Aroma: Ripe strawberry and banana, with a faint earthy undertone

The smell leans tropical and candy-like right away. You’ll smell strawberries and banana up front, with a subtler, slightly burnt-earth note underneath that keeps it from tasting purely sugary. It’s become something of a genetic backbone in its own right, showing up as a parent strain behind newer crosses like Strawberry Banana Gelato and Strawberry Banana Kush.

THC typically runs between 21% and 26%, so, as always, checking the specific batch’s lab results is a better bet than relying on the strain name alone.

Looks-wise, the strain tends to produce small, dense, clover-shaped buds, sticky with resin and coated in a solid layer of trichomes. A compact, potent look that matches its reputation as one of the stronger fruit-forward hybrids on the shelf.

Strawnana Cultivation Notes

  • Genetics: An indica-dominant hybrid (Crockett’s Banana Kush x Strawberry phenotype of Bubble Gum), relatively easy to grow — a forgiving strain suited to growers with some experience.
  • Climate: Prefers a warm, sunny climate outdoors (70-80°F / 21-27°C) with moderate humidity, lowered through flowering. Handles heat reasonably well and adapts to a range of growing conditions.
  • Growth pattern: Medium height with moderate lateral branching. Resilient structure that generally handles bud weight without excessive support needs, though heavier colas can benefit from it late in flowering.
  • Flowering time: Approximately 8-10 weeks indoors; outdoor harvest typically late September to early October. EvergreenEvergreen
  • Yield: Under controlled indoor conditions with proper training like LST or SCROG, yields can reach around 400-500g/m². Outdoors in warm, sunny climates with good airflow, yields can reach up to 20 ounces or more per plant — a solid, above-average producer. Evergreen
  • Susceptibility: Reasonably resilient and adaptable, making it a fairly forgiving strain overall, though standard mold/humidity precautions apply given its dense, resin-coated buds.
  • Nutrients: Responds well to standard feeding schedules; doesn’t have unusual or finicky nutrient demands.
  • Training techniques: LST works well — gently bending and tying branches allows light to reach lower bud sites, encouraging multiple colas and reducing mold risk in dense areas; SCROG is also commonly used to maximize yield.
