Hybrid

Banana OG’s exact breeding history has a bit of debate baked into it, but most sources trace it to Crockett Family Farms, the same California breeders behind Tangie and several other terpene-forward lines. It’s a cross of OG Kush and a Banana phenotype closely related to Banana Kush.
Here’s a quick snapshot of the Banana OG strain:
Type: Hybrid (roughly 70% indica, 30% sativa)
THC Range: 23%–27%
Aroma: Overripe banana and tropical sweetness, with pine and earthy undertones
OG Kush supplies the strain’s structural backbone with dense, resinous flower, high THC output, and the earthy, fuel-like notes that run underneath. The Banana parent contributes the tropical, fruit-forward sweetness that sets it apart from a standard Kush. The smell leans distinctly toward ripe banana, with a faint spiced-cinnamon undertone, backed by a pine-and-earth base from its OG Kush lineage.
THC typically runs between 23% and 27%, with some cultivars testing higher. Looks-wise, Banana OG tends to produce light green, compact buds with brown pistils and a solid coating of trichomes, with flowers that grow into tight, resin-heavy colas typical of its Kush ancestry.
