Katie Brightside is an international illustrator, fine artist, and designer whose multidisciplinary work bridges storytelling, fashion, and large-scale installation. As the founder and creative director of Welcome to the Brightside, she leads a practice spanning illustration, murals, wallpaper, art installation, curation, fashion design, publishing, interiors, and event production—each guided by her instinct for translating emotion into cohesive, multidimensional experiences that resonate across audiences.
Under her direction, the studio has produced numerous public art installations and creative collaborations that transform everyday environments into immersive visual worlds. In 2021, Brightside received both a West Hollywood Artist Grant and the Phyllis Morris Design Award at the West Hollywood Women in Business Leadership Awards.
Brightside is the award-winning author and illustrator of the Once Upon a Cocktail series, with the debut book spotlighting 54 West Hollywood venues and the second exploring California’s non-alcoholic movement. Most recently, she exhibited at WestEdge—the West Coast’s largest interior design fair—where her zebra-striping-themed vignette stirred creative chaos and delighted audiences for three days straight.
