Mariah Garcia is a self-taught oil painter based in California’s Central Valley. Rooted in lived experience and emotional memory, her work creates visual narratives that invite viewers to connect, reflect, and communicate through imagery-driven storytelling. Garcia began making art at a young age and further developed her practice through studies at California State University, Fresno, alongside extensive personal research and historical artist study.
Drawing from personal experience, Garcia’s work represents universal yet intimate encounters shaped by womanhood, minority identity, and her lived experience as a Mexican-American. Her practice seeks to raise awareness of global and generational social issues, allowing the work to function as an extension of her activism and social consciousness.
