The Artist Tree Expands Northern California Footprint with Addition of CLUB420 Locations in Davis and Dixon

The Artist Tree, California’s cannabis + art destination, is expanding north with the addition of two locations in Davis and Dixon, previously operated by respected local operator, CLUB420. These new additions bring The Artist Tree’s store count to 12 statewide and mark a major step in growing the brand’s presence across Northern California.

CLUB420 has built a trusted reputation serving its communities with care and consistency. Now, as the newest members of The Artist Tree family, both locations will be transformed into vibrant retail spaces where art, cannabis, and education intersect — offering a fresh take on the traditional dispensary model.

“Davis and Dixon are lively locations, with creativity running through their core — we love that energy,” said Philip Del Rio, VP of Operations at The Artist Tree. “Between the students, artists, and longtime locals, it’s a perfect match for what we do. We’re excited to plant deeper roots in Northern California and bring our experiential approach to new audiences.”

In Dixon, CLUB420 succeeded by being straightforward, approachable, and community-oriented — qualities that align seamlessly with The Artist Tree’s mission to make cannabis welcoming and inspiring. Sitting just off I-80, the Dixon shop has long served as a go-to stop for commuters between Sacramento and the Bay — a tradition The Artist Tree looks forward to continuing (and elevating). And with the town’s motto being “Everything Grows in Dixon,” the creative energy is already built in.

The Davis location of CLUB420  recently celebrated its seventh anniversary on Oct. 3 with a week of community appreciation and specials, a testament to the love and loyalty it’s earned since opening its doors. Housed inside a charming spot at 420 F Street, the dispensary’s address is no accident. In fact, CLUB420’s founder successfully petitioned the city to change the original street number to 420 — a wink to cannabis culture that’s become part of the shop’s origin story.

“People get a kick out of it when they learn it was intentional,” said Alli Ruiz, Retail Director. “It’s a memorable part of who we are.”

To commemorate the transition, The Artist Tree commissioned a mural from Davis-based artist Seongmin Yoo. The mural — a 6-by-20-foot landscape blooming with flowers and The Artist Tree logo — now lives on-site, welcoming guests into a reimagined space. A familiar name in the Davis art community, Yoo has shown work from coast to coast and across Korea, with local highlights like the Welcome to Davis mural and ongoing collaborations with the Davis Mural Team and  John Natsoulas Gallery. Her piece marks the beginning of a new chapter for The Artist Tree.

Both Davis and Dixon locations will continue serving customers with no interruption during the transition. Guests can expect the same reliable access to their favorite products, with upgraded design, expanded offerings, and new artwork by local artists coming soon.
