Cake Crasher

4.8 (247 reviews)

Cake Crasher was bred by Seed Junky Genetics, the California breeder behind Wedding Cake, Gelato #41, and a long list of other dessert-leaning modern classics. It’s a cross of Wedding Cake itself and Wedding Crasher, making Cake Crasher less a fresh combination and more something of a double dose of that lineage.

About Cake Crasher Strain

Here’s a quick snapshot of the Cake Crasher strain:

  • Type: Hybrid (sources vary on the exact indica/sativa lean)

  • THC Range: 20%–28%

  • Dominant Terpenes: Caryophyllene, Limonene, and Myrcene

  • Aroma: Sweet vanilla cake and dough, with fruity, earthy, and gassy undertones

That double Wedding Cake lineage really shows in the smell. Vanilla cake and cookie dough hit first, layered with a fruity brightness and a faint diesel edge. Different sources state different indica to sativa lean. Some list it as sativa-dominant, and others place it firmly in indica territory (around 60–70%), which is a good reminder that the chemical profile tells you more than whichever side of the divide a given source files it under.

THC typically runs between 20% and 28%. Cake Crasher tends to produce deep purple buds with vivid orange pistils, wrapped in a thick, frosty coating of trichomes and featuring distinctively horn-shaped calyxes, giving the strain a visually striking look that corresponds with its Wedding Cake-heavy pedigree.

Cake Crasher Cultivation Notes

  • Genetics: A hybrid cross of Wedding Cake and Wedding Crasher, bred by Seed Junky Genetics — both parents carry Wedding Cake genetics, giving it a fairly concentrated dessert-strain lineage. Not available as feminized seeds, which makes sourcing/cultivation more challenging for beginners.
  • Climate: Given its dense, resin-rich bud structure, requires controlled humidity to avoid mold, similar to its Wedding Cake parent. Cooler nighttime temperatures during flowering can enhance the purple coloration the strain is known for.
  • Growth pattern: Produces dense, chunky, resin-rich buds with strong bag appeal — deep purple buds with horn-shaped calyxes, vivid orange pistils, and a frosty trichome layer.
  • Flowering time: Around 60-65 days (roughly 8-9 weeks).
  • Yield: Medium to high, especially when grown with training techniques.
  • Susceptibility: Dense colas mean controlling humidity is crucial to avoid mold — consistent with the broader Wedding Cake/Cookies family you’ve already covered.
  • Nutrients: No unusual sensitivity widely reported; standard feeding works, with the usual phosphorus/potassium bump in flowering common for resin-heavy dessert strains.
  • Training techniques: Thrives in controlled indoor environments; standard LST/topping/SCROG approaches used across the Wedding Cake family apply here too.
