Garlic Cookies flower is usually a lighter green shade, with unique spade-shaped buds. The buds are coated with trichomes, giving it a dusty, white glaze. Another recognisable physical attribute of this strain is the curly, orange hairs that can be found on the buds.

  • Genetics: An indica-dominant hybrid (Chemdawg x Girl Scout Cookies), moderately challenging to grow — better suited to growers with some experience rather than absolute beginners.
  • Climate: Prefers a cooler, controlled climate with lower humidity, especially through flowering. Outdoors it does best in Mediterranean-type conditions (65-80°F / 18-27°C); indoors it’s sensitive to humidity swings given its dense bud structure.
  • Growth pattern: Bushy, moderate-height plant with decent lateral branching. Not known for dramatic stretch, but can get top-heavy once buds fatten up, so branch support is common in late flowering.
  • Flowering time: Around 8-9 weeks indoors; outdoor harvest typically early to mid-October.
  • Yield: Moderate yields — generally on par with or slightly below Wedding Cake, with growers often prioritizing potency and terpene expression over volume.
  • Susceptibility: Dense colas make it prone to mold/bud rot in humid conditions, so airflow and humidity control matter. Also known to be somewhat finicky with nutrient sensitivity — more prone to nutrient burn than average.
  • Nutrients: Responds best to conservative feeding, particularly with nitrogen; many growers run slightly lower strength than standard schedules to avoid burn while still supporting resin production.
  • Training techniques: LST and topping help manage its bushy structure and improve light penetration; SCROG works well for evening out the canopy. Stakes or trellis netting are often used to support heavy, dense buds later in flowering.
