Hybrid

Ice Cream Cake was bred by Seed Junky Genetics, the Lake Tahoe-based breeding operation behind some of the most influential dessert strains of the last decade, including Wedding Cake. The strain is a cross of two already famous hybrids, the aforementioned Wedding Cake and Gelato #33. Since Seed Junky doesn’t sell Ice Cream Cake as seed or clone stock directly to the public, most versions circulating today come from other breeders working off cuts of the original.
Here’s a quick snapshot of the Ice Cream Cake strain:
Type: Hybrid (75% indica, 25% sativa)
THC Range: 20%–25% on average
Dominant Terpenes: Caryophyllene, Limonene, and Linalool
Aroma: Sweet cream and vanilla frosting, with an earthy, gassy depth underneath
Ice Cream Cake tends to produce dense, weighty buds in dark green tones that can shift toward deep purple depending on growing conditions, wrapped in a thick, near-white coating of trichomes. THC typically lands between 20% and 25%, with premium batches reaching up to 35%.
Aroma-wise, Ice Cream Cake carries forward Gelato #33’s creamy, fruit-sweet character while picking up Wedding Cake’s dense, vanilla-forward richness, which is why it’s frequently compared to cake batter or frosting. It became something of a template strain for what growers now call the “frosted dessert” category, influencing a long line of Cake- and Gelato-descendant hybrids that followed it.
