Pound Cake, more formally known as London Pound Cake, was bred by Cookies. Its confirmed parent is Sunset Sherbet, itself a cross of Girl Scout Cookies and Pink Panties, which ties Pound Cake’s lineage all the way back to OG Kush and Durban Poison through GSC’s own family tree. The second parent has been the subject of years of speculation across cannabis strain databases, most of which simply list it as “an unknown heavy-hitting indica.”
Here’s a quick snapshot of the Pound Cake strain:
Type: Hybrid (roughly 70% indica, 30% sativa)
THC Range: 20%–29%
Aroma: Sweet vanilla and butter, with a spicy, earthy undertone and a faint diesel edge
That Sunset Sherbet backbone shows up clearly in the aroma, with dessert-like sweetness up front, vanilla and butter leading the way, backed by a spicier, earthier depth and just enough diesel funk to keep it from tasting purely like cake batter. Looks-wise, this indica-dominant strain tends to produce dense, trichome-coated buds in a mix of green and purple hues.
THC generally runs between 20% and 29%, with some databases reporting testing near 30% under ideal growing conditions. Given how much that range varies, and how tightly Cookies guards the genetics, we recommend checking your specific batch’s certificate instead of relying on any single reported number.
