A Day of Art, Film, and Community in West Hollywood
The Artist Tree, the leading dispensary and cannabis consumption lounge known for blending art and culture, will host “Studio 420: Celebrating Art & Pride” on Thursday, June 4 from 3:00 to 10:00 PM. The star-studded, Pride event honors LGBTQ+ history and creativity through a vibrant evening of film, art, and community-driven experiences.
At the heart of the event is a unique art show. Blending nightlife nostalgia with modern cannabis culture, “Studio 420” invites attendees to explore boundary-pushing art installations, connect with artists, and enjoy elevated NA cocktails, beverages, and cannabis-infused offerings throughout the evening. The event follows a gallery-opening format, bringing together local creatives, collectors, and LGBTQ+ community leaders in celebration of Pride. Brand partners include: All The Bitter, Birdies, Empress 1908 0.0. Indigo, Fever-Tree, Fusion Verjus, Glitter Faced, Henry’s Original, Jetty, Kiva, Liquid Alchemist, PAX, Uncle Arnie’s, and Wyld.
Curated by Katie Brightside—an international illustrator, fine artist, and designer whose multidisciplinary work bridges storytelling, fashion, and large-scale installation—the exhibition brings together a group of LGBTQ artists exploring nightlife, queer history, identity, and expression through distinct visual languages. Artists featured include Britt Westveer, Cassidy Barnes, star-dazzling Disco Daddy—whose bespoke crystal designs have been featured in numerous publications and adorned by celebrities such as Cardi B, Dua Lipa, Doja Cat, Lady Gaga, Lil Nas X, Lizzo, and Megan Thee Stallion—Jamie Roberts, award-winning Kii Arens, Mars Wright, Michael Osborne, One Archives & LA’s Poet Laureate Brian Sonia-Wallace, Ryan K. Henisey, and Studio One Forever. Guests will experience the debut of The Disco Daddy’s hand-crafted crystal artworks and fashion pieces, a portrait unveiling, and a live charity auction.
“My work is deeply inspired by the visual language and cultural references of queer history and I believe it’s extremely important we remember and honor the experiences of those who paved the way for the LGBTQ+ community,” said Vincent Braccia, aka The Disco Daddy. “I aim to preserve those memories by creating work that nods to our past while remaining relevant to current culture. My pieces serve as both a tribute and a continuation, paying homage to the artists and communities who came before me and shaped the world we move through today.”
From June through September, the exhibition will be on view at The Artist Tree West Hollywood, with works spanning mediums, textures, and perspectives rooted in queer culture and creative freedom.
“The Studio 420 exhibition weaves archival material, contemporary practice, and queer cultural history into a living conversation. Grounded in research and a deep relationship to the city of West Hollywood, the exhibition reflects on nightlife, activism, and the impact of the HIV/AIDS crisis, while bringing those histories into dialogue with present-day artistic voices across multiple disciplines. The show holds Pride as both celebration and remembrance—an insistence that history is not behind us, but something we continue to stand on,” said Katie Brightside, The Artist Tree’s Curator-In-Chief.
To honor West Hollywood’s history, there will be a screening of Studio One Forever, a powerful documentary chronicling the legacy of West Hollywood’s iconic gay nightclub, followed by a live Q&A with the film’s director, Marc Saltarelli, and producer, Gary Steinberg.
Philanthropy is central to the experience. Proceeds from ticket sales, signature cocktails, and a live auction—hosted by cannabis culture writer Adam Tschorn—will benefit Project Angel Food, a nonprofit dedicated to providing medically tailored meals to individuals facing critical illness.
